DESCRIPTION

The speaker will highlight the importance of oncology research over the years, and how advances through research and other scholarly projects have led to improvements in patient care.  Following the main speaker, the panel discussion will discuss the implications of participation and collaboration in a clinical research trial from the viewpoints of the clinical team, research team, and patient. The goal is to broadly understand the impact of clinical research for advancing science and improving patient care, while understanding the hope studies give to our patients when faced with life threatening conditions.

In Person Directions: Olson Auditorium is located at 1775 Dempster, Park Ridge IL, 60068. Parking is North of Dempster Ave in Advocate Lutheran Parking Lot or North Garage. Once parked, walk south to enter the main hospital entrance. Shuttle services are also available to the main entrance. Once inside, go left to the Yacktman Pavilion. The Olson Auditorium and Grainger Atrium is located on the 1st floor of the tower closest to the Yacktman Pavilion.
